چکیده

The aim of this study was to explore the anatomy and morphometry coronary sinus in hearts adult humans, clarify position left atrium, fibrous ring adjacent arteries describe topographic variants for various types dominance. We studied 40 weighing 200-420 g, obtained from patients who died non-cardiac causes. dissected 30 non-injected macroscopic specimens preserved into 4% PBS formalin reveal measure neighboring arteries. rest 10 we used preparing histological slices points beginning sinus, middle, near “crux cordis”. measured large small diameters, circumference, wall thickness as well explored relative arteries, atrium ring. reference range length 33.76-48.4 mm. median (Me) circumference increased 13.87 mm at 23.99 In some specimens, cross section looked flattened anteroposterior direction; others, it appeared be basoapically. distinguished two anatomical patterns sinus: subepicardial intramyocardial. first proposed term myocardialless or, simply, “naked”, second type named muscularized. divide latter partially completely Lack adventitia between myocardial sheet tunica media allowed us consider sleeves an integral structure intramyocardial wall. value point origin, its turning anterosuperiorly toward right had no differences, but significantly depended on cover atrioventricular sulcus. distance posterior 0.15-7.66 (Me 0.91 mm); 2.9-13.7 7.9 mm). found four relations Commonly, were located below sinus. ranges variability morphometric values structures may considered normal human heart.

Variability of valve configuration in the lumen of the coronary sinus in the adult human hearts.

Described by many authors, valves refer to the coronary sinus. The best known among them are Thebesius and Vieussen valves. Information about valves in the lumen of the coronary sinus, though, is rarely found in anatomic literature. Frequency of occurrence of valves in the lumen of the coronary sinus and the degree of their formation was chartered in this paper. 150 adult human hearts of both s...

The pressure waveform of coronary sinus in human hearts.

BACKGROUND The pressure waveform of coronary sinus in human hearts has never been well described. Retrograde cardioplegia perfusion has become a popular method of myocardial protection in recent years, and identification of the pressure waveform of the coronary sinus might help intubate the coronary sinus in retrograde cardioplegia perfusion by differentiating it from that of the right atrium. ...

P.Dharmendra et al CLINICALLY SIGNIFICANT ANATOMICAL VARIATIONS OF THE LEFT CORONARY ARTERY IN HUMAN CADAVERIC HEARTS

The anatomy of the coronary vessels has been described in detail for atleast 3 centuries. Detailed appreciation of the normal origin, course, branching and myocardial distribution of these vessels is vital so that variations of the normal anatomy can be more easily recognized and applied to clinical practice. Knowledge of normal anatomy and variations in the branching pattern of coronary arteri...

Variations and Anomalies of Coronary Artery System in Cadaveric Human Hearts

Background: Knowledge of the normal and variant anatomy and anomalies of coronary circulation is an increasingly vital component in the management of congenital and acquired heart disease. Anatomical variations in relation to coronary artery and its branches will help cardiac surgeons for refining imaging techniques and coronary artery bypass grafting. The current study is aimed at understandin...

Coronary arteries from a single coronary ostium in the right coronary sinus: a previously unreported anatomy.

The coronary circulation originating from a single coronary ostium is rare. All possible anatomical variations were the basis of a recent classification. This case report describes a previously unreported IID(1) pattern, comprising a solitary coronary ostium in the right coronary sinus with an anatomical course of the right coronary artery. The left circumflex coronary artery arises from the pr...
